Kids’ Events

We offer a variety of children’s events including storytimes, music programs, crafts, science events, movie showings and more. Check our online calendar for a complete list of our events. The Children’s Department serves children through 5th grade. If your child has started 6th grade, be sure to check out the teen events serving middle school and high school students.

WEEKLY STORYTIMES

Storytimes are on hiatus until mid-January. When storytimes return tickets will be required for Toddler Storytime, Family Storytime, and Alphabet Storytime. Learn more about ticketing below.

BABY LAPSIT STORYTIME
WEEKLY ON THURSDAYS AT 11:30 AM
Non-walking babies 0-18 months and their caregivers can join us for a lap-based storytime with books, bounces, rhymes and more. Enjoy bonding, fun and learning!

TODDLER STORYTIME
WEEKLY ON TUESDAYS AT 10:15 AM
This storytime is only 20 minutes. All songs, rhymes and flannel boards are repeated every week to help children learn and grow into storytime expectations. Best for 18 mo – 3 years.

FAMILY STORYTIME
WEEKLY ON TUESDAYS AT 11 AM
Family Storytimes welcome children ages 0-5 with a caregiver. Children and caregiver(s) will listen to stories, dance, rhyme and more in an early-literacy-based storytime that lasts approximately 30 minutes.

ALPHABET STORYTIME
WEEKLY ON FRIDAYS AT 10:30 AM
Join us for a family storytime with an alphabet twist! Each week’s storytime will highlight a specific letter, and feature rhymes, flannels and songs. Ages 0-5 are welcome, best for ages 2+.

STORYTIME TICKETS

  • Toddler Storytime, Family Storytime and Alphabet Storytime all require tickets in order to attend.
  • Tickets can be picked up beginning 30 minutes before the program. All attendees must be present to collect tickets.
  • Late attendees will not be allowed into storytime even if there are “leftover tickets”. Make sure you arrive on time.

If ticketing does not work for your family, check out our Monday events that include Family Music with Sarah, Sensory Bins, and Move & Groove. None of these events require tickets.

Why is storytime ticketed?

Ticketing storytime allows us start on time, limit attendance, and set clear expectations. It allows staff leading storytime to focus and offer everyone the best experience and chance to learn.

All of our storytimes are designed to help develop early literacy skills and get ready for school. This includes listening and following directions. Storytime is also a chance for you to bond with your child and, of course, HAVE FUN.
