Author Talk with Ellen Alden

Please join us in the Meeting Room on Tuesday September 26th at 7pm to hear Ms. Alden discuss her historical novel entitled Yours faithfully, Florence Burke. The novel is based on 19 original Civil War letters written by her Irish immigrant great, great grandfather, Florence Burke, to his wife and children back home in West Springfield, MA. The letters follow the battles experienced by the Massachusetts 37th Regiment and the challenges and sacrifices that first generation Irish immigrants made in order to survive in their adopted country.
