- How can I get more?
Remember: A small change in strategy can mean much more money over your lifetime!

Author Talk with Ellen Alden
Please join us in the Meeting Room on Tuesday September 26th at 7pm to hear Ms. Alden discuss her historical novel entitled Yours faithfully, Florence Burke. The novel is based on 19 original Civil War letters written by her Irish immigrant great, great grandfather, Florence Burke, to his wife and children back home in West Springfield, MA. The letters follow the battles experienced by the Massachusetts 37th Regiment and the challenges and sacrifices that first generation Irish immigrants made in order to survive in their adopted country.
Roku
Are you exploring options beyond Cable TV? If so, you may want to borrow our Roku 3, a digital media player that connects to your home network and home entertainment devices via an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi. Once connected, the Roku streams content from the Internet to your television. You can try a variety of subscription services such as Netflix or Hulu and you may even view movies via the Library’s pre-loaded Vudu account. You can learn more here.
Chromebooks Are Here!
The Library is now offering Chromebooks for in-library use.
What is it?
A Chromebook is an Internet-dependent laptop that starts up super fast (approximately 7 seconds) and works with cloud-based word processing, spreadsheets, and other Web apps (email, photos, etc), that run while you’re connected to a network. The benefits of everything being saved on the Web is that you’ll have access to it from any computer or mobile device.
The Fine Print:
A Chromebook may be checked out for 4 hours at a time and may be renewed twice.
It must be used within the Library building and must be returned to the Bedford Free Public Library Circulation Desk fifteen minutes before closing.
